CHINA Claims Mount Everest as Chinese Territory

What is the strategy of China behind these vague claims?

Mount Everest is The tallest mountain on earth whereas China in their every news channels Abbrevate Mount Everest as Qomolangma from Past one month because Mount Everest is the border line between Nepal & Tibet which is acquired by china.

China & Nepal had a brief border dispute before 1960

They resolved this by officialy signing a border agreement in 1961.
In this agreement, it was agreed at the head of state level, that the northern side of the Mount Everest would be chinese territory and the southern side would be part of Nepalese territory.

China is running expedition to measure the height of Mt. Everest in which the expedition team has send the image of Mt.Everest which is tweeted by their Media channels claiming Mt. Eeverest as Qomolangma

  • On April 29,China (Huawei) opened the world highest 5G tower on the north side of Mt. Everest in Tibet.
  • This mobile tower is located at height of 6500 meters. it will cover north side including the peak
  • It will Provide communication support and technical support to the Researchers and rescuers.

It will create Potential Threat of security  for Nepal and India
